Default Newbe from europe

Hello

i just made a account on priuschat
because i want to buy a prius in 2008
and the main goal is to make it more fuel efficient.

things like adding a bat. pack and turbo

so i am looking for a 2004-5 prius now
also thinking about importing one from the us because of the low dollar to euro for us europeans.
i am wondering if anyone now if the mpg/mph can be changed to km/l and kmh

Yes, you can change the Mph to Km/h no problem. Flick of a switch. Same with the MFD.

Interesting thought. If you got a Prius for 18k, that would run you around 12k in Euro's..... Freight.... I would guess, around 2k.... Might be a winning proposition.

Not sure how easy it is to register a vehicle in Europe under these circumstances. I don't know where you live, but I imagine that the country you're from is going to want to get some tax benefit out of it....

This will be a "mission Impossible". The US car is not homologuated for European use.

You will have to change lights, add fog-lights, change the speedo (EU cars must have a 5% optimism) and pass all the tests.

There are EU companies that will do all the hastle for you, but the service will cost over 5000 €.

Think: the Camry Hybrid is 24.000 $, in germany you can have one for 37.000 €.

That's only on the US/Canadian cars. The European ones have a rheostat in lieu of our km/h-mph button.

Yeah we have the switch, so it's not a problem. It's just that small button next to the hazard light button next to the clock. (or in other words, next to the ODO/Trip ODO button on your European-spec car).
