Default New Prius using way too much gas!

We picked up our new Prius on Saturday. Gas consumption is way above expectations. We're finding every excuse imaginable to drive it!!

The wow factor on this car is about a 10. We couldn't be more pleased.

And my wife thinks she will be the primary driver. HA!

This was tongue in cheek. The mpg is fine - 45 mpg breaking it in. We're using too much gas because we're simply driving it too much.

Congrats! Glad to hear you guys are having so much fun with the Prius! It's a fun car to drive, and improving the mpg becomes like a game.

Realistic mpg is 40-46, intown and highway respectively. We average 40-43 intown and 43-46 highway. Many will claim otherwise, but for the average Prius driver this is real mpg. Check most recent Consumer Report of 34/47.

That is an awesome feeling I know but I would try to exercise some restraint as wasting gas just to drive around is not good for any of us or your wallet.

Good to hear you are enjoying the car and welcome.
