I mostly use it with the voice prompts when I'm 'navigating' to a destination where I'm not already familiar with the route, or to use it on just the 'map' function on windy, curving roads after dark, since my night vision isn't what it used to be. Having the screen lower than the dash keeps my window totally unblocked, and it's easy to glance down at the screen when I'm doing my regular checks on the rear-view mirrors. I've never driven with a window-mounted GPS, but I've been a passenger when someone else was driving with one - personally, I don't like it blocking the window at all. |

I figure I'll be able to peel off the velcro without much problem. I remove the disk when not in use. Mine is mounted to the left of the MFD, on top of the vent. |

When not in use, it's down on my footwell or passenger side footwell just forward of the front seats. Perfect place, I can't even tell it's there sometimes. |

I'm thinking about fashioning a tray so I can slide my Garmin nuvi 680 in and out of that spot. That way I can close it with no mount visible. With a little of work I can hide the power wires and figure out a way to get the MSN signal. |

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: #6 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | My Garmin Street Pilot has a "bean bag" stand. It sits on top of the dash, right in front of me. It's easily visible but below the line of sight to the windshield, so it does not block my view of the road. When parked I set it on the floor and carelessly toss a towel or hat over it. When I get back in it takes me two seconds to set it back up on the dash if I need it for that leg of my drive. It's always in its bean bag mount, and the whole thing, bean bag and all, can be moved to the floor. Yet it's heavy enough that it stays put on the dash even in an emergency stop or a hard turn.
