Default Gps Oem Install?

Hello,
I searched the forums but could not find anyone who has attempted or even asked if this is possible.

Has anyone installed the OEM gps system on a Prius that did not have it stock from the factory? I wonder if all the wiring is in there, but all we need is the components and some time to have oem gps. Or if anyone knows of someone who does this at a shop.

thanks for the reply in advance.

Trying to convert to OEM navigation would cost more than simply trading out for another with nav already installed. The cost of the MFD screen, the DVD ecu and player, the wiring, the antenna...... just wouldn't really be possible....

Antenna and wiring.... You will also want to get an EWD (electrical wiring diagram book) to assist in finding out what other components are needed....

Just a portable GPS. You will be much happier and still have some money left in your wallet.

Some of our neighbors to the north have installed OEM NAV on their TCH's since for some unknown reason Toyota Canada does not make it available. As was already previously mentioned, it is expensive and entails quite a bit of work.

Slip over to GreenHybrid/Camry ( Toyota Camry Hybrid - GreenHybrid - Hybrid Cars ) and do a search there. Naturally, this applies to the TCH, so I have NO IDEA if it would apply to the Prius.

I second the suggestion to purchase two or three of the most expensive aftermarket GPS units you can find, and you'll still be far ahead in the cost category.
