It is a remarkable improvement indeed! However, I am curious - is this a good average for my first four days? I am hoping that, upon getting more experience driving my Prius, that my MPG will go up from here. I guess I'm just wondering, how am I doing so far? Is that the norm for the first week? I'm in Florida and it's winter, but it has been in the 40's at night this week and 65-75 during the day. No snow to contend with or anything. -Sam |

Lots of town driving (stoplights, etc.), with speed limit generally around 45. I'm glad to know I'm on the right track. I am a recovering speed demon, so this is a really good car for me. I get so excited about driving stealth, coasting, the display reading 99.0 MPG, etc. that I don't want to speed and mess it up. Been doing a lot of P&G or trying, at least. I hope I can get it up to over 60 - dang! That's amazing. Stereo is soooo FINE. I love this car so much. I'll probably go to hell for loving a thing too much... Well, good night. Thanks for the info. -Sam |

I've had it since the 5th and have been doing 50% cautious(MPG) driving and 50% normal(gotta hurry up and get there) driving. I too hope my MPG improve, although I am pleased sooo far!! |

I was most pleased over my previous vehicles 18mpg avg. We had a warm spell in late Feb and I avg'd ~47 for a tank. With each coming month learning to drive the Pri and warmer weather coming soon I look forward to the tank where I avg 50'ish. If I don't no biggie though as it cost's $29 to fill the tank compared to my previous $65 tank and I drive about 100 miles further on my Prius tank. To me that's outstanding!

JAx is a good place to have a Prius: in-town traffic can be a bear an all the sitting around waiting to move burns no gas, and driving around the loop nets you some pretty decent mileage, too. If you don't mind me asking, which 'burb you in? I used to be in Orange Cove and Middleburg... though that was like fifteen years ago; I'm sure a lot has changed since I was there last. |

There is soooo much road construction right now on my side of town, as well as all up and down Butler and Beach Blvd. I keep hoping they will get finished, but they never do. I've been fantasizing a lot about moving to the country a lot lately. If only they hadn't decided to do every single road I drive on at the same time...if only... Still love my town, just pretty tired of orange. As noted earlier, my Prius is a good car to have in city traffic, but even more so in the orange barrel kingdom. Speaking of Orange Park, I'll be going through there today (visiting a friend in Green Cove Springs). It will be my longest trip in the Prius yet. It takes about 45 minutes to get there from here. I'll get to try it out highway driving. Thanks! -Sam |
