My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Yap you hard right this happened yesterday during evening traffic jam. A driver didn't attention to the traffic and he/she decided to stop in dime. I was 2 car behind this idiot and I have to stop in hurry. Wait not this time my Prii slow down but don't want stop! Brake pedal is all way to floor and still car in motion :cussing: NO lock up or ABS reaction either. Luckily my Prii stoped before hitting car infront of me.... but minivan behind me almost ate my rear bumper.... For now my Prii is going back to dealer next week for check brake line. Is anyone had similar problem? Is any stainless steel brake line for Prius available?

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: B Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 4 | I have just the opposite problem: my brakes are grabby and touchy. I have driven cars with spongy / anemic brakes (Especially the 2005 Ford Focus with 4,000km on it as my loaner while the Prius was in the shop) and would NOT want to keep driving a car with that problem. Take it to your dealer and get it fixed AT ONCE. Overall, I prefer my over-boosted braking, no doubt helped by the regenerative system, over weak brakes. I have had to do a couple of panic stops on the Winnipeg Perimeter highway, at night to avoid deer, and the car will stop on a dime and give you change. |

My Car: Other Non-Hybrid Package: N/A Nominated 15 Times in 1 Post TOTM Awards: 1Friends: 0 | Hmmmm, Maybe we are not giving speedracer’s car the credit it is due for being smart enough not to do a panic stop and thereby preventing speed’ from getting rear-ended! After all, doesn’t the Prius have four 32 bit processors?!!! WAY TO GO PRII . . . SAVE YOUR PRETTY LITTLE ASS!!!! :bootyshake:  I had the same situation happen to me years ago, but the car behind tapped my bumper. I was in a mini-panic wondering why my brakes weren’t working - until I got out of the car and found myself sliding around in a major oil slick. Speed’ by all means have your brake system checked . . . nothing dumber than just wondering if you have a problem . . . then finding out for sure the wrong way.
