And tinkertoys with all wood parts. And our plastic legos looks like little bricks and while they stacked, they didn't stick together. So when you knocked the wall down, it scattered all over. We had little plastic doors and windows that would swing open. Unfortunately, never had enough legos to finish the house and add a roof. Never had enough Lincoln Logs either. I guess my parents never felt the necessity of buying a second set of anything. Our erector set had little nuts and bolts you had to tighten with a wrench to build anything too. |

I have no idea what we were supposed to be able to build. There weren't enough for the Honeymoon cottage. They came in a round cardboard container with a metal lid. Found them: ![]() Wow. I wonder if they're still up in the attic. Had no idea there were that valuable. Hope my Mom didn't sell them at a garage sale for $1.00. |

They were sooo exotic and cool! I didn't care if there were only enough "bricks" to make two tiny walls and no roof. Such simple pleasures... Speaking of hinges, do you remember the hinged walls of Fort Apache? I coveted the horses and itsy bitsy pistols. I think there was a dying horse on its knees in the set too, and I don't mean one that had its front legs chewed off by the dog or a sibling. That seems kind of wierd now. Long live Creepie Crawlies from the Thing Maker! |
