Default help: switching the door unlock function

Misson: Open all doors with 1 press of keyfob.

I've pressed the panic and lock buttons simultaneously until I hear two sets of two beeps. It wants to stay on the default setting of unlocking the drivers door only. I am doing something wrong, but am stuck.

Can someone help me out here?

Are you saying that the settings are not changing even when you hear the beeps?

Yes! That's exactly what is happening.

I've tried sitting in the car and performing the same function. No diff.

I know I'm close....anybody, anybody?

It's been 4 3/4 years since I did this...there's surely someone who's done it more recently than that....

I guess I'd suggest you continue holding the buttons down even after the beep...seems they have to be held until you hear the door locks cycle... I may be off base....it's been a long time.

Congratulations Becky!!!

I think I have done it, but honestly, I was hoping for a different outcome. When I put my hand in the drivers door handle, or open the trunk, all the doors unlock.

What I'm hoping to do is use the remote and with one push, unlock all 4 doors. Maybe this is as close as it gets.

Anyway, let me know how it goes for you. Welcome to the wonderful world of Prius Land!!!

Jeff

It requires two button press' on the remote to unlock all the doors (and to keep them unlocked you have to open one within 30 sec). This is not settable.

The "hold the two remote buttons down" only changes the way the car reacts when you reach for a door (SKS).

In the default setting if you reach for the drivers door only that door unlocks. If you reach for the front passenger door or the hatch all doors unlock. They will not stay unlocked unless you actually open a door.

In the alternate setting all the doors unlock if you reach for either of the three sensors (drivers door, front passenger door, or hatch). Again, they will not stay unlocked unless you open one of them.

Hi David,

You have confirmed my conclusion.

When I leave work I always put my bag on the floor behind the drivers seat, close the rear door, open the front door get in a drive off.

In the default setting, the remote pressed twice opened all doors. I was looking for a setting to press the unlock button once and open all the doors. You're saying it isn't an option and I suspected this.

In the modified setting, the best I can do is put my hand in the drivers door handle to open all the doors, toss in my bag in back, then open the front, get in and drive off (all without using the keyfob).

I can live with that. I'm so happy with this car, I consider my programming wish small potatoes.
