I thought my '08 specifically showed the code on the pairing screen...

I thought the code is determined by the handset. And overall, don't you just have to put matching codes in both phone and bluetooth (car) to get them to connect while they are in the connect mode?

Our '07 paired fine with the new iPhone, and let us pick the code...I'm not sure how we did it, though, I was messing about with the system for a good 10 mins. before we had success.
