I believe the reason the 2001/3 got free maintenance was that Toyota wanted to really back up the reliability on such a new kind of car. Since Toyota has now proved that the Prius is even more reliable than the average Toyota, they don't need to offer free maintenance. I also think it's interesting that in Daytona Beach, Daytona Toyota will give you a lifetime of oil changes if you buy your car there. I don't know why they do that other than they can't sell Toyotas as well in the south. That's my hypothesis since it seems every other car on the road in Daytona is an F-250 with a confederate flag on it and a "God Bless America" sticker... |

Not saying anything was wrong with it, after all it should only make future models better. I could be way off base though. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I was disappointed when I found out the tires for life was only if I got ALL my maintenance from Sun Toyota (with reasonable exceptions, such as extended out of town service). That was a big selling point in the justification on the purchase of this car under my budget. Not to mention being lied to by the 'market value adjustment' of $3.9K |
