My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I am trying to get my voice commands to trigger my Prius. It seems to very often either not recognize or incorrectly recognize what I say. I have been working with "warmer" and it usually doesn't get what I'm saying. I've found that if I say it more like "warmmmmer" it has I higher liklihood of getting it. But it's hard to say it just right. Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it something I should bring into the dealer? I swear I'm speaking so clearly any diction coach would be please. I try saying the words all kinds of ways. If you see me driving and contorting my face to say things differently please don't think I'm that crazy. Maybe just a little. Here's a typical very sane discussion twixt my and the Prius. Me: "Warmer" Prius: "Changing to FM1 band" Me: "Warmer" Prius: "This command only valid in Map mode" Me "Warmer Damn it" Prius "Turning off Audio system" Me "Warmmmmer" Prius: "Raising Temperature" Me: "About time you bubble headed boobie. I'm already at my flamin destination. But you know that." It seems to work more easily if I say "Raise Temperature" but I want to say "warmer". Is that too much to ask for? |

When there are multiple words slur them together more like you'd do in casual conversation. Careful enunciation usually does NOT work. Some commands just never work for me and I have to use work-arounds. |

(In fact, it's gotten to be a joke with my friends - my friends who are of the female persuasion often have much better luck with the system than I do, being of the male variety). I've stopped using it until I see some help! I've looked at the manual and have tried to speak as it wants, but to no avail, apparently. |

My Car: Other Non-Hybrid Package: N/A Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 1 | Isn't there a list on the MFD labeled "Help" that has the commands the car will recognize ( looking at page 126 of owners man. )? I have not played much with one but do remember being shown a list somewhere that helps. And to let you all know, I had problems when I went to class on it also. It wouldn't recognize my command but another tech in class could get it to respond to everyone of his. Guess it didn't like me, |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I find the voice commands don't work very well with simple stuff like raising or lowering the temperature or volume. However, they do seem to work well for more complex commands like turning on POI's - like "I'm hungry", "Coffee shop", or "Rest area" - or changing map modes - "dual map", "single map", etc... |

I've stopped using using voice recognition in my Prius because most of the useful commands (e.g. "Go Home") are recognized less than 10% of the time. |

[We named our Prius NAV lady "Ernestine" after Lili Tomlin's telephone operator character after experiencing her sometimes innane, unrelated responses].I have better results speaking in a normal tone of voice and am getting about 65% accuracy overall... and 35% chuckles. I do have problems when I have "chatty" passengers. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I was feature to my husband on Saturday and he was having fun it. "I'm freezing" caused the temperature to increase to 85. "POI off" works more often than any other command we tried. It's a fun way to kill time on a trip if nothing else. |
