My 2005 (purchased Oct 2004) with 10,000 miles, won't shift to neutral. I'm not sure whether I accidently had touched the Park button, in which case you must hold the brake momentarily to allow a shift, or if I simply didn't hold the neutral position long enough. The car wash attendants are yelling - don't brake, put it in neutral, and I'm frantically trying to slide the puck (shifter) to the N position. so they shut down the car wash drive train, and eventually the machine concedes, and everything is OK, Has anyone else experienced this ? Did you try.. well.. no.. brake shouldn't be needed * thinks* if you hold it it should go. Just keep holding it in the N position. *shrug* I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else so far. Anyone else hear of this problem? |

However, you can go from D to N or N to D without the brake, which is why it is a good idea to put the car to Ig-On, so that if the lever gets bumped, the car won't start driving away unmanned. |

Priusham: I'll take your 10 points in which case you must hold the brake momentarily to allow a shift, or if I simply didn't hold the neutral position long enough." he knows to hold it... knows to use the brake from park too |
