Default Wife called and said her Prius is so slow!

This morning, my wife called me from work and said that it was wierd driving this car so slow. She set the cruise control at 68 in her new Prius and said everyone was just flying past her on the way to work. I told her that there was no way that everyone was passing her at that speed but she was adament. I thought to myself that this didn't bode well for her enjoyment or my serenity at home. I asked her if she liked the ride and she said it was smooth and quiet but she hated having everyone pass her. She was also not too happy that she got to work late. She did say that the mileage was good.

This evening she called me and asked how do you switch it to miles from kilometers? Oh my God. She drove 32 miles to work at 68 kmh. The speed limit was 65 mph and she was tooling along at about 43 mph. No wonder people were flying by. They were probably all cussing those damned slow-assed hybrids. I love my little blonde sweetheart. She's a really good sport to let me post this and no one laughed harder about it than her.

hehe, thats funny...

I play a trick on my gf sometimes as she is driving on the highway. Ill switch it to kmh, and it will say like 130 something and she'll flip for a sec, and they proceed to give me a nice hit on the arm :P

Sometimes doing 58 mph ain't safe either.
I had a friend send me this E-mail:

The A.G.C.O.W.N wants you

They saw you driving at 55 mph in the right hand lane! They saw you
get dusted by grandmothers and old men with handicapped license plates.
You probably slow down for the small animals that dart onto the
highway too! Go ahead, tell them that you actually go through the
EZ-Pass lane at the prescribed 5 mph.

What's happened man? You used to routinely blow by me in the Big
He-Man Truck. I would look down, see that I was doing a cool 70 mph
and think, wow, he is really moving. Now, I have to, sadly, cruise
right by you. There you were, head down in the pre-dawn glow, a broken
man. Avg. speed 58.2 mph. I nearly slowed down to help you out. Let
you draft me. Do anything to lift your spirits.

Call me if you want to talk this through. There is help. Don't go
through this alone. There is more to life than eeking out that extra
0.5 miles/gallon. 48.3 mpg is good enough.

Think of it this way. That 23.4 cents that you saved this week is
costing you your manhood. So straighten up and drive right. Put that
pedal to the metal. You were the man who once firmly stood for The
Right. You proudly proclaimed that one should "never show your house
fear". Well, damn it, kick your car's ass here. Show that thing who's
boss. Gun it and let the mileage fall where it may.

I don't want to see you go out like this - getting old and pathetic in
your Hybrid. Give me something to look up to and be proud of. Or for
god's sake, see if you can get the F-150 back! You have to think of
the greater good here.

Ha! Your friend is guilty of obsolete 20th Century thinking! No REAL man would say 48.3 mpg is good enough!!

My Prius goes slow as well, and I am a lot calmer driving. I don't care when cars pass me in town, and I have discovered I get there at the same time they do, because I see them passing me, and then me passing them. My last tank was the best I ever had! I am enjoying driving a whole lot more. Driving a Prius is a Zen experence.
