Default Prius sightings

[font=Arial:5f32fd8892][/font:5f32fd8892]

I just completed 3000 mile round trip from Northern NY to Florida and back and only saw one other Prius . the other Prius driver looked as excited as i was to see another Prius (this was on Rt. 81 in VA)
By the way, I averaged 46.6 mpg on the trip. I now have 5000 on the car and am averaging 48 mpg.
I have no questions, but just have to express how much I love this car (2005 silver Prius pkg 6)

You need to swing through DC metro area!!! I can't go 3 miles without seeing a Prius Generation 1 or 2 any day of the week. On my daily commute to DC I usually see between 5-15 Prius each way.

BTW, this morning on the way to work I saw a women in a Gen 1 Prius try to cut around another car and managed to scrape the rear door and bumper of the other car. All to get about 3 car lengths ahead! :cussing: Guess we are smart buyers, but not always smart drivers. :|

When I got my car three weeks ago, I didn't know of any others in my immediate neighborhood. Since then, I've seen three others on a regular basis. I didn't know that there were so many smart people around here!

You don't even need to go to major metropolitan areas like Washington DC to see a lot of them. Around Chapel Hill/Carrboro and Durham in North Carolina I'm starting to see at least a dozen or more every day and even those seem to be breeding like rabbits!!

Out here on the west coast, there are a lot more. I litterally see a dozen or more on a daily basis.

Indeed. A Prius in the west, even the PNW, is nothing new.

When I got my Prius two weeks ago I though I could unite with other owners in my area (Puget Sound).

I'm pretty sure they just think I'm weird for waving and shouting "Nice carrr."

If only I could stay awake during my trips to and from work, I'd be more likely to see a Prius parked near the commuter rail stations. By now you have realized (I hope) that I am a non-driver during work hours.

So my best chance to see a Prius is while walking to and from lunch. In downtown Chicago, this means I will see at least one Prius a week during lunch and another at other times.

The highlight of my recent Prius spotting was the custom seat covers I saw on a new Prius visiting Chicago from Peru (Illinois). This was a Tideland Pearl Prius, with Electric Blue seat covers. Streaking up each side of each seat back was a white flame.

[Edit: Days later, I remembered a matching blue steering wheel cover.]

It drew me closer - mainly to see if the driver had gotten a ticket yet (as rush hour was beginning, other cars had left the parking spaces on that street). No ticket, so I thought maybe some type of public official had parked there and left a signal by hanging a blue police-type vest over the seats (usually this is done with an orange or lime/gray vest). Then I saw the seats were more or less permanently covered.

Thanks for the fashion glimpse from central Illinois!

I had my first quadruple sighting the other day, where I drove by 4 different Prius while the same song was still playing (in other words, within 4 minutes).

11 is my record for most in a day (excluding gatherings).
