If and when I get one, I will definitely check out the spare!!

Thanks for sharing your un-excellent adventure!![/b]
Good question... although I certainly wouldn't put it past them, I think they simply failed to go over it with a fine tooth comb when they got it. I think they just took the chance and assumed because it was so new, there would be no issues...

Yeah, let my story be a lesson for all, check the spare AT THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING!!

You're welcome!

One thing that wasn't made clear originally, was that the car was bought used.  I would have to assume this however, as I would find it appauling to see a damaged spare in a brand new vehicle.
But even as used, being such a late model vehicle, and being purchased by a dealer, there should be a 90 day bumper/bumper warranty from the dealer, over and above what's left from the factory.  Even if it is \"Certified\", the spare could easily be overlooked.  How many of us remember to even check the pressure?  I am sure the dealers don't when they rotate your tires, though they should, unless you have junk in the hatch making that difficult (guilty as charged).

I certainly give low marks to my dealer, for a few reasons: They charged WAY over MSRP, they lied about doing so, they wanted to (and subsequently did) charge me for turning on the passive mode on the alarm which we all figured was a simple matter, they kept my car 2.5 hours to do the oil change, tire rotation, and the alarm setting, claimed the alarm setting took the 2 hours, found out it does NOT take 2 hours to do the alarm, never recorded my visit for the oil/rotation/alarm with Toyota's central database (my other visits are recorded), they had NOTHING to put on my car when I came in with an unfixable flat.  Not even a used tire of correct size unil a new one was obtained so I could get off the donught.[/b]
Wow..... Guess that was the last time there...

BTW, what is it with the lack of Prius's here in Tampa Bay? I've been here two days now, and not a single sighting...

Thanks!

If I don't get it relatively soon, I'm gonna check out my local junk yard...

I just saw a driftwood turning onto US19 from Bellaire this morning.
If you observe a single intersection on US19 from Drew St. to County Line in Spring Hill from 6:30am to 7:30am weekdays, you may see me in LadyBug.

I still go to the dealer until I get my new set of free tires. Then I file the divorce papers.

lol! Just as soon as I mentioned it, it happened... Saw 2 today, one out by Dale Mabry near the 275 junction (a nice black one), and later on, a silver one in Brandon near Best Buy... Thought it might have been you for a sec. (afterall, they seem to be so rare here, whereas in Boston I'll see one or two a day), but it looks like you're on the other side of the bay! Ah well....

you know the actual tire only costs something like $120... they didn't have to replace the rim too.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but the rim is dented too... It's like someone used it for 100 miles and went through a field of potholes (aka most Boston area roads...)... :cussing:
