My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | After a serve thunder storm in Grand Rapids Mi on Sunday I decided to fill my Prius. Well the power had flicked on and off a few times at the gas station before I arrived. I stared to use the gas pump and it ran full tilt up the filler neck and all over the place. The auto shut off failed on the pump. After I put the nozel back in the pump I waited for the fuel level to go down in the filler neck. It did not. My question is has anyone had this problem and didi it hurt their Prius. Blue |

I'd be more worried about getting that gas off the paint. I freak out if a drop or 2 hit the car as I take the nozzle out. But I've had a car that had a very cheap paint job and have always been kinda protective of the paint. |

When you get home wash and Wax the car. My prius belches out gas every time I fill it up. I also offer to clean my mess up at the station with kitty litter. Jim |

My Car: 2005 Prius Package: #6 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | The only problem I've had with an overfull gas tank in the Prius was fear (that I would either spill too much gas and cause a fire, or damage the paint), and then travel 652 miles on the tank. The bladder in the Prius can cause quite a spectical when you overfill... I thought that I had topped off when a few seconds later, fuel started bubbling out of the fuel fill hole... Not cool. |
