Default Ran outta gas on highway

At 80mph, dashboard lit up. Pulled over, and realized I'd forgotten to fill up the tank; I'd seen the last bar on the fuel gauge blink earlier that morning and it was now quiting time. The batteries alone propelled me another 1/4 mile or so, at about 30-40 miles/hour until I gave up when I saw but two pink bars left on the battery.

Here's the good part I didn't count on - Toyota Roadside Assitance bailed my a** out of a jam but good tonight. Stuck, with nowhere to go, and no gas station within miles, they dispatched someone to bring me 2 gallons of gas, all covered, no outta pocket expense. I was up and running in about 25min.

Word to the wise, fill 'er up when she starts blinkin.

I never let my fuel gauge go that low. I always fill it up when I see one bar left. But glad you got out of the mess pretty quickly. Don't forget to fill up again! :cussing:

It's only 3 years if you don't do heavy driving. I didn't own my car a year yet and I have 25K on it. I'll burn mine up probably by October.

Oh! Is it 3 years/30k then? Or if not, what is the mileage limit? (Sorry to be lazy ... I should know)

The mythical 12,000 miles per year, which I only stayed under when I didn't have a job, is still the standard.

3/36, 5/60, etc...

Except they give you an extra 4K for the hybrid non-drivetrain components and emissions.
