Default Prius in stock in Toronto

The 04 Prius is not hard to get in Toronto. A local dealer has had a silver one on display for weeks with no takers.

What are prices like in Canada?

And what's the conversion rate these days? .8 US to 1 Canadian?

Well that's about $25500 and $23300 (US). Without the NAV and voice command option that makes the US BC package which includes it and the HID (about $25750) look like a very good deal. No wonder it is as popular as it is here. Might that explain its lesser appeal in Canada?

Also, am I right in thinking that you would have to wait 6 months after buying a car in the US to avoid some of the duty you would have to pay at the border going into Canada? Or that is that a pricey proposition or perhaps politcally incorrect? Not that there are a lot just floating around south of the border. (Although I found two BC's on the lot in Upper Michigan in the last month.)

There aren't the same delays in Canada as in the US. I ordered mine in Nov. from a place which had never ever sold a Prius, and got my 2004 8 weeks later.
