Default Scratches after having lowjack install

Yesterday I had lowjack installed and tufflon sealed coat on my band new
Prius. It took 3 hours. After I picked up my car, I left in a hurry and
did a quick inspection. When I got out, I noticed 2 scratches on the door.
The scratches can only seen when the car is in the daylight.

Deep scratches!!! I imediately took the car back and told
my "Service Adviser person" about the scraches. He danced
around and said we are not respondsible after you leaving our
service bay. He sent me to a cabbana boy who
buffs car scratches. The boy wants $200 or $600 to repain the hole door.

I am so angry and ready to pull my hair out.

Any suggestion?

Yap, I should have done the search on the web first.
Same for the extended warrenty, $1460 for 100k/7yrs.
I am thinking of having them refund me both these options.

Am happy so far with the car except the shitty service.

Now, now, that's just one school of thought. For those of us who live in areas with a high rate of car theft it offers a modicum of prevention and peace of mind. To compound that, where I live I must park my car on the street that is far from my home, my car is ALWAYS out of sight and hearing range. LoJack is a "must have" for some of us. For many of us It also cuts down on the cost of our car insurance.

If you act quickly you can cancel the extended warranty with them. If you buy it here that saves you enough to get the car buffed out.

I agree that for Palm Springs...getting the lojack was a total waste of money. The car is very hard to steal.

Cancel the warranty and tell them you're using the money to repair the scratches they put in it. And you'll be using a different dealer from now on.

I doubt you can have the lojack taken out and get that money back.

This forum is a valuable resource for information. A search and read would have save you from the bloated warranty price, the lojack and in the end from your car getting scratched.

Good luck.

Thank you Godiva for your suggestion.

I am going to have a talk with their finiance department.
Hopefull I can get some money back. The dealer I bought and
had my installation done is not local.

I will probably be using a different dealer from now on.

All the insurance policies have cancellation clauses, read the car policy. Usually you have a 30 day windows, at no cost to cancel, then after, it is prorated up to a point, and a cancellation fee. So on that front Hilore, you're in good shape, don't wait too long, and if the dealer plays dumb (which they probably will) there should be information in the policy contract you signed that has a phone number and call the insurance company direct and follow their instructions to cancel the policy with them. All the dealers usually get is a commission for selling you the policy.. after that you would be dealing with the insurance company.
