My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | As I just purchased one of each of these items off of Ebay, I thought I'd do a small review as they are worlds apart regarding fit and finish: Overall impressions: The more expensive item (Thinner/Smaller) is lower quality though easier to install and remove/reinstall if needed. No Velcro required. It’s not as wide from front to back so it blocks less glare. Aesthetically it doesn’t stand up at all to the less expensive one and looks as though not much time or effort is put into manufacturing. Remember, this is just my opinion. Here's some extra pictures to help you make up your mind. Side-by-side Underside [attachmentid=5504] Side-by-side Topside [attachmentid=5505] Thickness Comparison [attachmentid=5506] Underside Comparison [attachmentid=5507] Edges (Thinner Item edges slip into area between MFD and AC Vent Cover) [attachmentid=5508] Underside [attachmentid=5509] Top Side-by-side Comparison [attachmentid=5510] Which one is thicker??? You Decide. [attachmentid=5511]

Do you think one really needs this? I use my navigation and blue toothed phone all the time, especially now that I have the Coastal lock-pick installed and it works perfectly. I am thinking about this modification, what do you think? |

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: #9 Nominated 1 Time in 1 Post TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 24 | Thanks, nice summary/review. I have the Priushoods version (velcro, thick) and Robin used to be a PC sponsor and I've been through 4 different generations of her hoods (cloth w/ minimal thickener, leather w/o stiffener, leather w/stiffener, and now the current plastic version. The plastic is clearly the best, the velcro held up through the summer heat well. |

Yes, I really do think this accessory is a must. Without it, that extra split second required to focus on the screen while it's glared up takes your eyes off the road longer then without the glare. IMHO, all automobiles should have HUD's, like my 93 Nissan Altima had. I never had to take my eyes off the road to check my speed. Only drawback was the windshield cost $1300.00 to replace!! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(efusco @ Oct 28 2006, 07:41 PM) [snapback]340104[/snapback]</div> Quote:
We are on our 2nd generation of her product, the first being the leather, which didn't hold up too well in the summer Georgia sun (what can you expect from leather in the sun though | ||

I "upgraded" to the rigid plastic one that Robin now offers. The leather one is about 18 months old and a little faded. Let me know if you are interested...shipping (a couple of bucks?) will be our responsibility. |

My Car: 2006 Prius Package: #7 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I got a PriusHoods hood and love it. The wife used to complain about the glare and having to hold her hand up to block the sun. Got the hood, now all is better. Easy to install w/ the Velcro. Definitely worth it. A no brainer. |
