Tinted tails

So I finally got my tinted tails back. Thanks a bunch to treehgger for the info on how/where to get it done.
The experience was quite frustrating due to miscommunication and delays (not my fault). But once the guy finally got my tail lights into his shop things went OK. Still, I don't know if I would recommend this shop to anyone though.

I chose to pay extra to get factory matching paint for my Mag Grey. I also paid a bit extra to have the bottom parts left untouched so that the red reflectors are not tinted. This was part of a concern I had for the state law requiring reflectors to be seen from 100 ft. I sure don't want to have to redo the whole thing if it fails inspection.

Anyhow, I still am not quite sure if I like his suggestion of a medium tint. My wife seems to like this lighter shade, but I think something darker would probably look much better. What do ya'll think?

Be careful where you drive. That's illegal in some states.

Looks very nice man. I think that shade looks good. I also think the red reflector at the bottom being untouched looks pretty good too. I have yet to have a problem with the cops and my tinted tails. So you should have nothing to worry about. Never really thought about inspection on the other hand.

I like the way it looks still being able to see all the interior parts of the light, but that's just me.

I'd like to see one of these tail tinting jobs done on a set to make them red, I'd like that on my black car, I think it would look sweet.

Not illegal in Texas. But I did do quite a bit of reading on the TX DOT website before I had this done.
I would highly recommend anyone considering this to do some research first.

It's definitely not legal in many eastern states. Now whether they enforce it or not is anyone's guess.
