There are all kinds of conflicting information about this.

See: http://priuschat.com/Vehicle-Credit-...10-t29024.html

FWIW, I started my taxes with TurboTax but haven't got to the point where they ask about credits. But I think I'm going to spend a little time this weekend on it.

They won't let me file until the 16th, but the form was up enough on Turbo Tax that I was able to see that I will indeed be getting the full credit. Between that and the sales tax deduction on the car, it's about a $4000 swing. Cool

Yes I did my Turbo Tax yesterday and they mentioned I have to come back Feb 16 to finish when
they get the forms for the Prius Rebate. BTW Turbo Tax is free for State Farm customers / you need to access TurboTax thru statefarm.com. And Turbo Tax did know my rebate was $1575 for a 2007 bought in Dec . I was pleased so far .

Form 8910 alternative
motor vehicle credit

This form is not ready cause we are completing final calculations to ensure accuracy

will be ready 02/16

If they aren't , then they soon will be. Intuit is usually very good at keeping their product up to date and on 01/25/07, the IRS put the correctly dated form (8910) on thier web site. I downloaded it last night. If you have the turbotax product, try the update feature and I'll bet the correct form goes in there.

Here is a link to the form off the IRS website....

I did my taxes using Quicken 2006 Home and Business (CD) edition a few days ago. They warn you right on the form that it is NOT final. When I first started doing the input, I was getting near the full $3150 deduction....but when I really started to add in all my Form A deductions, my 8910 deduction started to decrease. I think I am pretty much done and my final 8910 deduction amount came down to just over $2,600.

I will have to see if the final form download changes it much. I doubt it will.

Just finished my Turbo Tax today . Did it free thru State Farm Insurance if you are a customer , it's FREE . And that's both State and Federal and you can even go for the Deluxe vers . Premium I think was $20 extra and I don't think it worth it anyway . It messed up my stock option sale last year . This year I sold no stock . Now the 8910 forms are AVAILABLE now at Turbo Tax . I was told last week to come back Feb 16 to finish , but they emailed me the forms WERE NOW READY . I had a problem where Fed DID NOT ACCEPT IT so Turbo Tax just said to file again and few hours later IT WAS ACCEPTED . So I am done . 2/14/2007

Forget all about Feb 16th - I just finished mine with the ONLINE version and E-filed with no problems at all!

We did ours last night on turbo tax and never got the warning about form 8910. We will get the full $3150 credit

This is the first year DH has agreed to use Turbo Tax. He has always done them himself. Asking him to e file will be too much of a change for him. So he will print and mail them in. We went through Vanguard and got a discount.
