I am thinking of using turbo tax for the first time this year, soley to simply the hybrid credit process. We usually file form 1040A (not EZ). Do I need the basic or the deluxe package?

I don't know about TurboTax, but for TaxCut, the premium package includes the price of the state filing software AND free e-filing. That's why I went for it!

I get the deluxe, mainly to get the state tax package. You'd probably be ok with the basic one.

Does the online version of TurboTax have the correct forms?

I've been told there is a thread on this very topic, but I have yet to find it.

We usually just use the online version of TurboTax. I believe that it doesn't cost you anything until you request the pdf of the printed return or file the return electronically.

I've been using the online TurboTax for years and have been very satisfied - but the question is about the tax credit forms. Are they in there yet or not? I don't want to start the process only to find out I have to stop and wait for a form to be added.

So - are the tax credit forms in the Online version of TurboTax or not?? Does anyone know??

Well, try it and find out. I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost anything to fill out the tax return. You pay to get the PDF or to file it electronically.

If they aren't , then they soon will be. Intuit is usually very good at keeping their product up to date and on 01/25/07, the IRS put the correctly dated form (8910) on thier web site. I downloaded it last night. If you have the turbotax product, try the update feature and I'll bet the correct form goes in there.

Here is a link to the form off the IRS website....

Apparently the answer is no, not until Feb 16th.

Why Feb 16th? Did Intuit come out with a statement regarding that particular form?
