While searching for TSB's for the My Brakes are Barking at Me thread, I come upon this TSB.

The Prius engine model is 1NZ-FXE, so the new recommended viscosity is 5W-20.

Oh right! Miss that line... thanks for correcting!

Now this got me wondering, how come the oil spec for Prius is not changed while other engines in the same series got the update spec for better FE, protection, and cold start?

i'd guess that they've updated the design of the engines somehow- why they didn't mess with the prius, who knows?
