please help multiple problems

Hi ya all. I have been reading this chat for a while but just today registerd up. I have a 05 prius with lots of problems. I have no power steering, Every warning light is on and the climate controle is all messed up, I can see the buttons but i can not get them to do anything,they are very light. I am wondering if there is one ECU that controles all of these items, I have 4 other parts cars so I should have what ever that it needs. If any one can help I would appricate it greatley. You have 4 other Prius parts cars???? Holy Moley! Regarding your problems, if your car is a 2005 as you say, it is under warranty. Take it to a Toyota dealer. <_<

no one ecu that controls all that.

audio controls working ok?

does the car go into ready mode? does it drive at all?

warning lights on the mfd?

sounds like what you've got going on is way more than can be picked through on a website, might wanna take this up with your local dealer.

With all those problems and the available parts cars, is this a salvage attempt of some sort?

FWIW, take it to the dealer, there's a hell of a lot going on there, and it's gonna be impossible to troubleshoot it online.

It is a salvage car, it was hit on the left side but it was all cosmetic damage, only paint. I have the other cars for parts, any one that needs parts can contact me through my email, I had a post under parts but it was removed. As for as taking the car to the dealer I will if nessary, I just dont want to pay the cost if it is something simple.The audio does not work , it says audio off. Thanks for all of the info so far and if I figure out what it is I will post it so every one knows. Thanks again Casey

As resident expert galaxee has not written, I'll observe that a Prius is very complex. You'll need Toyota's proprietary diagnostic device and the complete shop manual to have any chance of diagnosing and fixing everything that might be wrong. I hope you did not pay very much for this salvage.

and like we've said... there's a lot wrong with the car, and it's going to be impossible to tell you how to fix it/what parts to replace online - especially since it was involved in an accident and has a salvage title.

Salvage titles don't go on cars that only had cosmetic damage.

Take the car to a dealer if you want it fixed. It's too complex for someone but a trained Prius tech with the shop manual and the scanning tools to diagnose and repair.

I'd check to see that your 12V battery is connected properly. Might be a loose connection somewhere.

though it's true you may not be able to perfectly debug the car, it's also fairly simple to trace many of the issues to the most common logical breaking point (you may not be able to fix a fried IC but you might be able to logically and physically locate said IC in the car if you're \/\/illing to spend the time).

do you have the cd changer option in the car? if so, check the disc slot indicator lights. if the connectors are loose or even one pin is bent you might get the issue i have seen before: even if the stereo is playing, you only have volume control and steering \/\/heel buttons to control it as secondary po\/\/er to the unit is not connected.
