After reading on here finding the popular and inexpensive mod of blocking the grill with insulation I'm curious if anyone has tried building an insulation structure to go around the ice?

I haven't looked under the hood to see where it is or how much room there is but my family's company manufactures insulation structures which may work well for cold weather prius owners. I just do the accounting/pricing type things in my spare time for my parents and I'm not an engineer but a metal encased 1/4" (or so) thick insulation structure to either block air flow to or surround something the size of a small engine could be made at a reasonable price in small production runs.

edit: oops put in wrong sub-forum, sorry.

I would have to see the specs of what exactly is being used and the thickness to make a calculation, but fiberglass would function as more of a wind-barrier than heat holder at the thickness I would imagine is being used in comparison to other products which are designed to insulate in small spaces.
