London already has something similar installed (sophisticated but not as sophisticated as this article suggests). London uses sensors in the road and relays traffic info back to the command center who has a large map and can see where the 3 levels of traffic jams are (<10mph, <20mph etc). I already receive traffic and road conditions on my nav system but it'd be great if there was better coverage. |
