Of course, i being a car guy have gone looking for mods, but have only found stuff for the new style Prius. I'm looking for the fun stuff like the ev mod and i have searched to no avail. Also i have a question about the energy display and the battery fill level...... the display for the battery normally sits below the +- signs, and only once has it filled all the way up, after droping 6k feet from tahoe ... is this normal? thanks all in advance! |

I can't help you with "toys" for a Gen I. I bought only a black front end mask for my '02..But I've been with these forums since '01, and the EV mod was the single most talked-about one in Gen I days. And I think you can get reactions to whether getting that done was worth it by dropping in on one of the Yahoo Prius groups, where some of the same people who took the plunge still hang out. As for the braking energy display, yes, totally normal. Once slightly "overfilled" following a long descent like that, the battery will burn it off by giving you a somewhat-longer-than-normal electric-only ride

So the first gen does have a ev mod? anybody know where a faq may be? Also whats the link for the yahopo group? |

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: G Touring Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 3 | Welcome to PriusChat! Regareding to the EV mod, the Hybrid ECU on the 2004-2007 (NHW-20) Prius has the "EV drive mode" function but it is not used on the NA model. There is no such function on the NHW-10 (original) or NHW-11 (classic) Prius Hybrid ECU, so it is difficult to make EV button on your Prius. The typical battery level is 2/4 or 3/4 on the classic Prius. You can get a lot of info about the classic Prius at following John's site. http://john1701a.com/ http://john1701a.com/prius/documents/Prius...eet_classic.pdf Ken@Japan |
