Hi all,

does anoyone of you know, what to do, if I bought Prius 2006, from California and imported it to europe?
I´m asking about the navigation - someone told me, it will not work in EU. (off course, not with US DVD, I will buy a European one.)
Is this true?

Help, please....

It has been discussed on PriusChat in the past; however, I am unable to find the relevant threads (the search function on this site is quite challenged).

IIRC, the North American and the European NAV systems are made by different suppliers and are not compatible with each other.

[Edit]

P.S. I found it: European Nav DVD

Buy a non-nav car and get yourself a Garmin Nuvi. You can get a European Nuvi (European maps installed). You can also purchase a map card with North American maps if you happen to fly over and rent a car. You can even get one with both sets of maps installed. See garmin.com for more information.

Here's what mine looks like installed (a Nuvi 650 with North American maps).

The OP has already imported a North American Prius with a NAV system.

that´s the point...
I already imported the car for my girls father..
I have 2 navigations (both mio 520) that are transferable, and I can give him one, or buy a new one - but this is not the point.
The owner is 61 year old and he is "old school" - it means, no additional equppment, no wires, etc...
It is a full option prius with the new price about 28 000 USD.
