Well, would you like to get a reward for buying the Prius in the first place (kind of like a supplemental tax credit)? Or, free gas for some period of time???? I'm sure you can think of other uses for the proceeds of a wager....

For fun, I used Kelly to figure out what a Hummer, H1 with 115k miles would go for:

$57,565

Continuing OT: not quite so much for a 2004 H2 with 115k miles. Just $21655 (private party sale) there.

But now you've gotten me interested in depreciation. I guess the 2004 H1 was about $105000, so we're talking about more than $47k lost there. About 40 cents/mile depreciation - that' s got to be more than refueling costs!

A 2004 H2 might have sold new for about $45k; just 20 cents/mile depreciation.

Accidentally I may have identified an axis upon which the Hummer has a very low 'coefficient of drag'. Straight down.

To be fair, KBB also suggests that 2004 Prius with 115k miles have also lost about half their MSRP value. If anyone sees one of those offered for $11,250, please post details on PriusChat! There may be ready buyers.
