how to remove roof handle

How do I remove this?

What are those little holes for?

I would say the hole on the right is to put a screwdriver to make lever to pop the screw cover hiding the screw which maintain the handle in place.

it didnt seem to want to do it for me
- maybe other hooks etc underneath
anyone have a photo of the pop cover removed

ok you have to pry the sides out both sides at those holes to release some tags
then slide a long piece 1" of plastic out - which is a snug fit

The roof liner rear tags are like fir trees
Holding the nail head with finger nails and going in above the roof lining you can release a few branches at a time by pressing it sideways

Looks like you broke yours in two. I removed mine by first prying out the bottom part (there's an opening there) using a flathead screwdriver. Once the bottom part pops out, simply grab the cover with your thumb and index finger at the bottom and top, and pull it out using a downward motion.

I dont think I broke it

there are two almost identical mounting covers there, but lying at right angles to see the features
the left one just shows the side of the little catch barbs
