My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I am now at the point where I want to start programming the speed dials in my 2007 Prius Bluetooth phone application. I can see easily how to add a new speed dial number. My question is this: Is there a way to add pause and wait characters to a dialing string so that you can select one of the speed dials on the MFD, have it dial the number you want (like your voice mail) wait a few seconds, and then dial a second set of numbers (like your password) automatically? I have looked all over the documentation and can't find a description of "pause" or "wait" characters anywhere. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I decided to program a few numbers today that did not require waits or pauses in the dialing string. While doing so, I noticed, clearly visible to the right of the numbers on the MFD, a "wait" button and a "pause" button. I haven't tried them, but I will speculate that these do exactly what I was looking for. I look forward to testing them out.

They are programmed as "p" pause and "w" wait extensions to phone numbers in your phone book. The saved phone number in your phone book would look like this example: 678-463-4569w2212. Where 2212 is the extension for that phone number. When the number is dialed, and connection is made, you then push the "Send Tone" button, and the 2212 extension will be dialed.. Works like it does in your cell phone. And your cell phone manual probably has a better explaination than the prius manual. The explaination for this feature in pretty much non-existent in the prius manual.

My Car: 2006 Prius Package: #7 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 7 | I've been frustrated by this feature more than once. I'm not sure if it's a bug in my car or in my phone, but when I use the "Wait" feature, my phone gets stuck sending a single tone. So, through the car speakers it sounds like someone is holding down one of the number buttons. When I disconnect the bluetooth, the phone is still making the beep sound and I have to power down the phone to make it stop. No other bluetooth connection I've used with the same phone has done this to me. So if you can successfully use that feature, you're doing better than me! Razr V3C is my phone, btw. And F#@! Verizon for not letting me BT transfer my phonebook!!

My Car: 2007 Prius Package: #6 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I tried to use the pause feature yesterday evening. I programmed a number that had a pause in it, but the phone would never send the tones after the pause. Even after waiting for a minute. Anyone able to get the pause feature to work? |
