Does anyone know what kind of aftermarket parts I could install to get something similar. First off, I'm thinking of the BT Tech Stiffening Plate. Anybody know if different springs are also used in the touring edition. I don't really care about the rims or rear spoiler. I just miss my old car's handling, and would like to get a little of that back. |

If you haven't already, try increasing your tire inflation pressure a few PSI. My GF was running factory recommended pressure and complained about the handling, so I bumped her car up to 42/40 and she is much happier. (That's what I've been running since I bought mine last year.) That will make things a little more secure in the corners while you are deciding what to do about hardware. Not bad for your fuel economy, either. |

I run a Subaru Impreza in Auto-x, and was a little disappointed in the stock Prius handling. Like the man said, 42/40 on T.P., and a BT plate makes the car actually fun to drive. Lots of people whine about the OEM Goodyears, and hurry to replace them. I hate taking off tires that are not worn out, and mine just won't wear out. Over 43,000 on the OEMs, and they still have lots of tread left. Short answer, increase tire pressures, and try The BT plate. There are lots of better tires out there. Modding the suspension will make it ride harder, and may compromise wet weather handling. My Subaru is modded suspension wise, and compared to the Prius, rides like a covered wagon. Now if the Prius traction control would only lighten up a little...I'm spoiled by Subaru AWD.
