Clunky Noise When Idling

OK, we're the proud owners of a new 2008 Prius, Pkg 6. We love everything about it. We have one question: My wife drove the car about 75' and began speaking with a neighbor for a few minutes. The car was idling during this time and, all of a sudden, there was a fairly large clunky noise. Is this a normal function? It hasn't happened since that time. Thanks a lot.

Sounds like the engine warmed up and shut off.

When the engine (ICE) has not fully warmed it tends to shudder when shutting down and starting up. This usually goes away after about 10 minutes of driving.
