My Car: 2004 Prius Package: Base Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I was running on my last gallon when these warning lights came on. I am the second owner and I found out that this car had been in an accident before. The service adviser told me that my car "had been in an accident and codes were saved in history did not allow cruise control to operate, the P3193 light came on which allows other codes to come on" The dealer reset the codes and the cruise control did worked for a couple of days until the Red Triangle and CEL came back on again. I remembered running on low fuel but my car always started up fine. They didn't mention anything about repairs besides just resetting the codes... My car is out of warranty and was wondering how much it will cost to get all these repairs done? My cruise control does not turn on or stay on when it does not work. It stays on for a period of time until the CEL comes on, this turns off the cruise control itself. I never got the ECU reflash done because I do not know weather the previous owner did it or not. What should I do? Last edited by saelee39; 07-14-2008 at 02:45 AM. |

I refuel now with at least 3 bars the very minimum. Now I get code: P0A85... the Mechanic advise me that one of the Hybrid fan is going bad. Would this be something I should be worried about? As you are discovering, so many things can get damaged in a accident and go undetected and unrepaired it can give you the willies. Last edited by richard schumacher; 07-27-2008 at 11:32 AM. |

Is there something wrong? Since I have been having problems with my car, should I by an extended warranty? My car didn't come with warranty and is currently at 41k. |

It is good news that it is running, but there must be something wrong with the system since DTC P0A85 appears. It is too late to buy an extended warranty from Toyota; that must be purchased within 3 years/36K miles from the initial in-service date. |

You will be paying a certified Prius technician (most of them are at Toyota dealers) to diagnose and fix these problems, and install any missing TSBs. | |
