My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | New Prius owner (7/12/08) with about 600 miles (commuting 125miles rt each day). The Consumption Monitor "froze up". That is to say over a period of 30-40 minutes of traveling, no new information was presented. I ended up having to exit the hiway and turn off my Prius. Now this seemed to start after driving in HEAVY stop and go (mostly stop) traffic in downtown Denver. Is this Cosumption Monitor freeze up something to take into the dealer for a look? Should I expect this to occur from time to time? Thanks! |

Any installed accessories/after-market stuff such as an ipod interface? Sometimes things like that can interfere and cause issues. |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | It completely and utterly froze...no readings what so ever. I pulled off the hiway at an exit, parked the car and shut it off. Waited about a minute and started it up. The Comsumption monitor showed no bars (like it usually does at first start). But the mileage indicator was really off, showing something like in the hi 60's. Now I've only driven the car for two weeks but NEVER have I seen 60mpg average when driving my daily routine from Fort Collins to Denver and back. I hit the reset "button" and drove on to home and things seemed to function normally. I'll keep an eye on it especially during the drive home and when stuck the in 5PM rush hour traffic around Coors Field. The DNC should also be a great test of stop and go traffic. Also, no options other than what came from the factory for a Package #5 (with XM radio). Last edited by Rcky_mntere; 07-22-2008 at 06:33 PM. Reason: Added information |
