Default Generic Manual on NiMH Batterties

I was looking for info on what impacts NiMH lifespan/performance and found this:

http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/nicke...ide_appman.pdf [pdf]

It's a generic but informative application manual on NiMH batteries from Energizer. Might be worth a look for anybody who wants a little better understanding on what makes these things tick. The only thing it won't give is the specifics of our particular batteries, for which we would need to consult the manufacturer (Panasonic?)

What a coincidence. I've been doing much the same, largely to get a handle on how battery temperature affects operation and vice versa, and found this. I was going to post it in a new thread, but no need now.

I have the Sanyo battery manual on CD. They hand them out at trade shows, but you may be able to download it as well.

It probably has been posted before, but I ran across this today:

http://www.nrel.gov/vehiclesandfuels...02_01_1962.pdf

This is an NREL paper "Thermal Evaluation of Toyota Prius Battery Pack" related to the NHW11 vehicles. May as well link it along with the above documents since this gives some specifics on service temperatures and how the cooling system handles thermal management. Maximum operating temp is reported to be 55C.
