For those of you browsing with Internet Explorer, be advised that Version 7 is now available as a free download. Its most useful feature is tabbed browsing. An example of its use is when you are composing a message in PriusChat and feel a need to Google something. Tabbed browsing keeps your PriusChat window from disappearing while in Google. A list of your open windows appears on the top and you can switch back and forth. Very useful.

Sure is. I've been using tabbed browsing for years. That's why I'm on Mozilla. Safari has tabbed browsing too but won't work off a one button mouse. Kinda stupid seeing as Macs are known for one button mousing. And I think having to hold down a key while using the mouse button is equally stupid. Mozilla has always let me do tabbed browsing with one button. Sweet.

Or course I've also been using a Wacom tablet for years and the mouse has a right and left click so Safari is no problem. I can do tabs with a right click.

Internet Explorer just now got tabbed browsing? Where have they been?

You beat me to it. I was tempted to take a screen capture of my current Firefox session and ask, "does it look like this?"

I'm sure IE7 will be pushed down to me at work via Desktop Management. At home, it's Firefox all the way.

The most powerful of new features that IE7 offers is the ZOOM.

I'm amazed how clean it is; everything scales remarkably well. Positioning of objects (text & graphic) remain consistent as they grow and shrink.

I used IE back in 96? when I first got on the net. Then switch to Netscape because it was better. But as we all know microsoft made Netscape crash all the time so I switched back to IE for a few years. Then I discovered the Mozilla suite 1.2. I was hooked. Been using the suite ever since up until last week when I started using Firefox 1.5 and Thunderbird 1.5. From the look of it Firefox 2 will be released this Tuesday. I cant ever see switching back to crappy old IE and outlook no matter what they add to them. Plus when i'm forced to move off XP I will be going to Linux and it will be easy to move my settings over.

Long live open source!

I've been using Netscape when it came out back in 1995 (and Eudora Light mail for those who remember). Switched to IE when IE5 came out. (Also had Netscape 6 & 7 for a while but it took up too much memory and was slow to load on my PIII 450Mhz). Switched to FireFox after IE6 when one Windows update kept crashing IE.

Took MS a while to get IE7 out.

I've stuck with IE because it has Identity Swapping which I don't see on the other browsers. I have four e-mail addresses and like to switch between them easily and IE is the only one I've found that allows this.

There's some sites that seem to be geared to IE, so I use it when I visit them. Like the others, I use Firefox.

Thanks for posting the update. Having tabs is great.

Microsoft's slogan for IE7:

“We heard you
You wanted it easier and more secure
Introducing Internet Explorer 7”

Yeah, RIGHT!

So why is it less than 24 hours after the release of IE 7 do we have our first security alert flaw?
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/10/19/1326247

Test the flaw here . . .
http://secunia.com/Internet_Explorer_Arbit...erability_Test/
click on the “start the test” link.

A good read on the two browsers . . .

Yes, I wanted it easier and more secure . . . that's why I use Firefox.
I have been using the Release Candidates of Firefox 2 since the day they came out (now at RC3). Works great!
