Friends: 37 | New quick order page! http://priuschat.com/ebh-group-buy.html ![]() Breakdown on the pricing: 20+ units = $49 shipped 35+ units = $44 shipped 50+ units = $39 shipped All orders will need to go through PriusChat to count toward the Group Buy total. What I'd like to do is handle payment through Google Checkout (accepts all major credit cards), so if you're interested, please PM me with your email address and I'll send you a Google Checkout invoice for the $49 price point. Your credit card will be pre-authorized, and I won't charge your card until the end of the Group Buy. If the price point changes, I will issue a refund to your credit card through Google Checkout. <strike>Deadline on the Group Buy is going to be Sunday, August 19th.</strike> Group buy ended on August 14th due to overwhelming response. I'll try to hold a 2nd Group buy later in the fall for those who were not able to get in on this one. Special thanks to Ichabod for the awesome graphic.

Friends: 0 | Thanks for the great opportunity. I have a few questions. 1. Do you have installation directions so I can decide if a purchase is practical for us? 2. Will this heater work on other cars or just the Prius? 3. What is the warranty . . . 4. I live in Suburban Chicago Thanks, Ed <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Danny @ Jul 25 2007, 01:53 PM) </div> Quote:

1. Installation instructions can be found here on PC. There are many threads with the installation how-to, but I'll pull some up and post them later (unless someone beats me to it). 2. There are other Toyota models that the EBH will work in. Just PM me with the model you're interested in and I'll let you know if we can get it. 3. I'll double check on the warranty, but I think it's the standard 1 year warranty that comes with other Toyota OEM parts.

Friends: 0 | The EBH is a cylindrical device that gets installed into a hole that is cast(at the manufacturing process) into the engine specifically for this heater. It is about 400 Watts. If you preheat for about three hours it cost about $0.10 to operate per day in electricity cost. 400W at three hours=1.2 KWHours. It is extremely effective in the winter time but helps in the summer time also. On average your first 5 minute bar for FE(fuel efficiency) on the consumption screen is near 20-25 MPG in the summertime and less in the winter. With the preheat you take it to somewhere in the ~40 MPG range in the summer and ~30MPG in the winter. It allows the engine to be able to get up to operating temperature much quicker and therefore allows your engine to reach stage 3 and stage 4 operation sooner. Read about the 5 stages of operation here. If it is not a link just copy and paste into your browser. Thanks to hobbit for the link http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/five-stages.txt With the preheat the coolant/engine block is preheated to approx 125 deg F. From what I understand about the 5 stages the car wants to be at 163 deg F so it only has 40 deg F to go when you start. Upon start, with the preheat the temp initially drops back to about 115 deg F(when the cooler un-heated coolant from the radiator enters the block) and then soon back to 124-140 deg F. All of this means that the car will be able to save fuel sooner. The other added benefit is that the oil is already preheated so it will minimize cold starts on your engine. A preheated engine is a happy engine. ANOTHER thing to think about doing is blocking your grill to help hold some of that heat in. Here is the link. http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=2...;hl=upper+grill Thanks, D Rock I can have it installed before it gets really cold. Never really much snow here. It will also help with my first 5 min bar in the summer time. YEAH. I have replied and want 4 of them. One for me now. One for later many years from now and maybe a few installs locally. Get yours now. D Rock

Friends: 23 | I told Wayne (FireEngineer) that I'll buy an EBH only after I have a garage in which to park and hook it up; I simply do not trust my neighbors. However, with the group buy, I think I will only INSTALL the EBH after I have a garage. Put me down for one! |

Friends: 1 | I am PMing Danny right now. Is their a waiting list for Fire Engineers West Coast ciruit in September? I realize he will have to reload is NAV system several times, becuase I know there is a finite limit on way points. I figure he can do all the national parks and all PC engine block installs in the same nice big circuitous trip Everyone list your Zip Codes to make it easy for Fire Engineer. Mine is 98607. |

Friends: 37 | Lemme add one comment about Wayne's EBH installs. They're nice! I shoved mine in, ran the supplied cord wherever it would go and tried to avoid anything that looked too sharp, then zip tied it in place. It works, but in hind sight it should have been done better. Wayne comes with his own supply of corregated tubing that he wraps around the OEM cord for additional head and abrasion protection, wraps it up neatly with a goodly amount of electrical tap, neatly removes and replaces the little cowling under the hood (I never bothered to replace mine), and runs it in a very convenient direction and zip ties it so as to make it convenient to use and avoid damage. He uses a special dielectric grease on the plug where it attaches to the core...never even thought about that myself. A top notch and extremely professional job indeed--better than any expensive dealer would do. ![]() <a href=\"http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1420/861494771_ac723ffeb9_b.jpg\" target=\"_new\"><img width=\"800\" class=\"attach\" src=\"http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1420/861494771_ac723ffeb9_b.jpg\" border='0' alt=\"IPB Image\" /> </a>
