Default Prius Throttle Controller from SigmaAuto.com

To All,

You can now fine-tune the throttle of your '04~09 Prius for better acceleration response.

Check it out from our SigmaAuto Prius page. Under the "performance table".

Alternatively, Throttle Controller product page here: BLITZ Throttle Controller :: Sigma Automotive

Thanks for your attention.

Very interesting.... Is this specifically for Prius? On Blitz web site, it does not list Prius as the supported car.

+1 on very interesting.

But I don't get it. The last thing I want down in the regen-no arrows-yellow
arrows range of the go-pedal is more "throttle" response for small inputs.

In this thread we discussed the idea of finding a way to open up or extend the
amount of go-pedal input so that it would be easier to find/hold no arrow and
yellow arrow glide states both above and below 42 MPH:

http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-mo...utton-mod.html

This would be the equivalent of getting less response for a unit measure
of go-pedal depression, which is the opposite of what this gizmo seems to do.

Or am I missing something here?

[Edit] One other possibility: as suggested by one of the later posters in the above
thread, maybe this gizmo is just altering the signals just before the throttle body,
thereby having no effect on that portion of go-pedal movement at the beginning
of its travel that determines regen-no arrow glide-yellow arrow "glide."

This would avoid having to deal with the dual signal output of the go-pedal and any
interference with the ECU/CPU that deals with those signals.

Very good observations! According to the website www.sigmaauto.com, all 4 of the modes of operation that this drive-by-wire throttle 'filter' will increase the sensitivity of the go-pedal to throttle position vs. stock (even at the low throttle percentages), thus shrinking the pedal position range at which you could achieve glide.

Plus- this thing adds another in-line component of questionable reliability into a very important chain of vehicle components. That and what I think I saw as ~$400 price! Don't do it.

I could find the NHW20 Prius on the list.

Maybe, they have not tested it on the NA model.

It is not listed on here: Throttle Controller : Blitz, Power Site

I wonder if it can flash it's firmware to support more / different cars.

Holy crap! $420? Just can't get past the cost - and the "Special order item from Japan. No return. No cancellation. No refund." footnote.

to me it sounds as if it's only re adjusting the petal position... I can do that...

if it was actually changing the fuel ratios (like most programmers) or throttle orientation non-via system speed... so.. individually changing power ratios... or even changing the set rpms for the ICE...

this seems to do none of that. am i missing something?

and 400+ bucks.. wow (had to add that)
