Personally, I now find this "topic of the month" now totally disgusting. It is now a tainted popularity contest due to the bribery exhibited by a certain Priuschatter. Sorry but I don't consider buying votes to be innocent fun, even if the end result is supposed to be a donation to charity. It cheapens the process and is insulting to other posteers. I'm withdrawing all of my votes if I can find them and am no longer participating in any of the topic of the month voting ever again. In fact, I hope it is discontinued soon. It is no longer fun.

In a round-about way, I agree with you . . . but one must remember, a TOTM Award is not a Pulitzer.

TOTM was destined to be a popularity contest from the very beginning - much like the "Friends" social networkin'.
People without 'friends' or TOTM nominations/awards can be made to feel not worthy or left out.

I am just pointing out this fact in a what I (and others) consider a fun way. 'Friends' and TOTM should not be taken seriously . . . especially since they can be manipulated.

On the other hand, as several of us have pointed out and suggested, the old "PriusChat Points" was fun, and we wish danny would bring that back! Everyone could play along and not feel intimidated, because everyone earned points and could pass them along to each other for whatever reason . . . even begging AND BRIBERY . . . and no one ever felt the need to collect-up their toys and stomp off in disgust.

Godiva, I am truly sorry you feel that way, and that was never my intent with 'bribing' people for a vote.
