Friends: 0 | I've got under 12,000 miles on my 2008 hybrid highlander and the tires are almost worn out. I don't drive this car hard or fast. I'm getting about 29mpg on every tank here in the mountains of WV. I just looked on tirerack and they only show bridgestone as the correct size. The reviews on that tire show that the wear is almost as fast as the stock tires. My last SUV was a Jeep Grand Cherokee had the original tires lasted over 75,000 miles. Is there not something like that for this car? Am I going to be forced to buy new wheels just so I can get a normal tire? Anyone else noticed their stock tires wearing quickly? Anyone had to buy a new set of tires yet? A firend of mine said his parents have a toyota sienna and they got free tires from toyota at 18,000 because the wear was so bad. I have not tried going up the chain of command at toyota yet with this complaint but wanted to check online to see other's experiences first. Thanks! |

Friends: 3 | unfortunately OEM tires on nearly all cars have taken a dive in quality. I have noticed the same Goodyear Integrities that came on my Prius on alot of new cars everything from Dodge Chargers to Lexus'. The tires not only wear incredibly fast they handle very poorly when half the tread is still left. |

Friends: 44 | My 2006 HiHy 4WD-i came with 225/65R17 Goodyear Integrity tires. I replaced them at 6K miles as they were ~40% worn and I was planning a snow trip. I bought Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza and they are a big improvement. I assume that you have 19" wheels since you say that Tirerack only shows Bridgestone tires. If you move down to 17" wheels you'll have a much bigger selection. Compare Tire Search Results |

Friends: 0 | I am on my second set of nokian wrg2's. I got 53,ooo out of my first set. Unlike my integrity's. The only down side is they're like $750 for a set. But compared to the $550 for the integrity's it was well worth the extra $200. Plus they are made from canola oil. They're "green" tires. You should check out the website @ nokiantyres.com i got mine from boulder toyota |

Friends: 0 | I am considering buying four new tires for my 2004 Prius with a little over 50,000 miles. I came across what appears to me a very good deal on tirerack.com -- namely Sumitomo HTR H4 (High Performance All-Season) $55 apiece. Anyone got any info on this tire-- it rated high against many higher priced tires. I forgot to add, the dealer said my tires are ok, but I'm wondering if I should push it and keep driving on my original Goodyear tires until the dealer says they need replacing or go on and bite the bullet and buy some new tires now????? Friends: 0 | Jumpsuit, Check your tires your self. The tread depth is easy. Check a couple of spot on each tire. If the tread is getting too shallow or the steering and ride control starts to feel uncomfortable, replace the tires. If you have a tire pressure gauge, check to see if it has a depth gauge indicated on it. If not, a good rule of thumb is to use a penny with the crown of Lincoln's head into the tread. If you can see the top of his head, the tire has less than 3/32" (original entry was typed late and fast, ignore the previous listed fraction) of tread and that is considered too little tread in most states (But check the statutes in your state to be sure.) --TK Last edited by TKY; 07-20-2009 at 04:00 PM. |
