Has anyone had a problem with the rubber roof molding strip being blown away during highway driving? (2005 Prius)
I just noticed that my driver side strip is missing and I find it hard to believe that this strip could be lossended by the wind and blown away. I tend to think that someone needed this strip and helped themselves to mine instead of pucrchasing a replacement from a dealer.
However, if other owners are missing either side, their may be a problem with the adhesive used to keep them in place.
Your feed back would be appreciated.

There's no adhesive, they just push into place. I've taken mine off to treat with 303 Protectant. Both ends fit into a loose clip. Sorry you lost yours.

Thanks Bill, maybe the brushless carwash I use periodically had too much pressure one day. I'm off to the dealer today to order a replacement, I'll let everyone know the cost for your reference.

Yeah, I noticed that I could pop one end of those strips out easily
by hand when I was washing the car and trying to extract all those
stupid pine needles... felt like a very weak clip, and I started
getting paranoid that the strip could work loose and pop off with
enough air pressure. I had a door strip launch itself off my old
Subaru into the median one day for similar reasons [the cheezy
double-sticky tape failed...] hmm, maybe I should figure out a way
to at least anchor down the front ends better.

Maybe that's why they pull out so easy: to facilitate cleaning out the pine needles (Doug Fir in my case) that want to turn to mulch under there.

Lost one of mine as well on the highway. A new one cost me $ 73,-.
I want to glue them firmly into place since they don't seem to have any real purpose. I assume some kind of silicone kit will not damage the paintwork. Any ideas?
