My Car: 2006 Prius Package: #8 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I have a 2006 Magnetic Grey Prius pkg. #8 in the San Antonio area. I'd also like to see regular meets in Texas, quarterly would probably be best either in the San Marcos/Austin area or rotating around Texas each quarter (Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio?). See my post about the Go Green Expo in Live Oak coming up on May 18 & 19, 2007. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hi, My husband and I are proud to announce our new 2007 Prius bought on June 22, 2007. We love the car. We live in Georgetown and commute to North and South Austin. My husband also teaches in San Marcos so it will be interesting to see what kind of gas mileage we get. My mother-in-law lives in Kerville so we will be traveling their frequently as well. We got package # 2 because we had to keep the price down. But it does everything we need it to. The bluetooth would have been nice but that would have been more for just having a neat gadget. We had many issues with a 2004 Mazda Miata Mazaspeed that the Premier Mazda dealership in Georgetown could not fix and would not buy back from us so we finally got rid of it by going with the Prius. Best decision of our lives Our first tank of gas is going wonderfully. |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hello everyone; new to this chat room. I live in New Braunfels and commute to South Austin(100 mile round trip). Am in final stages of purchasing an 08 Prius with pkg #5 (not the touring model). Any thoughts from experienced owners on reasonable pricing, traps to avoid and after-market add-ons that are must have? I am using Consumer Reports Pricing kit for this car, and plan on ceramic window tinting(a must in Texas), mud flaps and carpet mats. thanks for any help that you can provide. Jeff |

http://www.a1glasscoating.com/ They use FormulaOne tint and I had them use the ceramic Pinnacle series. I am very happy with both the work they did and the quality of the product, both have held up very well in the heat. Aside from that the only other suggestion I can make for starting off is probably to have a clear bra installed because the paint chips VERY easily on the front. I don't have one installed but I wish I had the day I picked up the car. Good luck and enjoy! -edit- Don't forget to add the Covercraft sunshade to help keep the car cool in the parking lot during the day and protect your interior from the sun. I got mine from AutoAnything for $45 + Free shipping (found a $5 off coupon code when I purchased it). http://www.autoanything.com/driving-access...x?from_search=1

My Car: Other Non-Hybrid Package: N/A Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hello all, new member here from Georgetown TX. I don't have a Prius yet, but after extensive research have decided to make it my next vehicle. I'll be looking for one in the next 3-6 months. Most likely from Round Rock Toyota, as my family has extensive connections in that area. I'm looking at getting a Magnetic Gray with pkg #5. Figures, I can't afford one right now and they have one in inventory for ~ $24,000! I was wondering if an actual Austin area club had been formed and if you had regular meets. I'd like to meet people in the area and check their cars out. One of the things I'm most interested in is eventually doing mods on my car, and would love to see some of what can be done up close and personal. I currently have an old 95 Altima that gets about 25mpg on premium fuel. I'm really looking forward to offsetting the cost of a new vehicle with cutting my gas bill in half! |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #6 Touring Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hi. My name is Jason and I'm a Priusaholic. ![]() My wife and I live in Austin. She has had an 06 Super White Prius #7 since April of 06. We loved her car so much that in October I took the plunge and traded in my Super Duty F250 diesel on a new 08 Barcelona Red Touring Prius #6. So we're now a two-Prii family and loving every minute of it. I haven't seen any signs of an Austin-area club with any kind of organized get-togethers, but would definitely be interested if one started up. I haven't done any DRASTIC mods on my Touring Prius (yet ) but I have made several minor mods that I wouldn't mind showing off (Dice iPod integration kit, shark fin antenna, removed the plastic wheel covers, added the Touring badge) and at the same time seeing what mods other owners have done. |

My Car: 2007 Prius Package: #5 Touring Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hey all, Bought mine last April and got a sweet deal in Round Rock. $2500 off msrp, 2.9% for 60 mos, $1500 tax credit. $26,600 for an '07. Everything but the voice-NAV. And I love it! Got the windows tinted at Sun Tint on Burnet Rd. in Austin. Got the windshield tinted too ( I didn't know you could do that!) to block the UV rays. Everyone should do this, very smart idea. The JBL audio is soo much better than my old Saturn stock stereo! LOL But I'll probably do a few upgrades mentioned here. Also check out CleanMPG Forums - Powered by vBulletin for tips for getting better mileage on the road. I did, and am now getting 55mpg, up from around 45-48mpg. I'm going for 600 miles on one tank.
__________________ '07 Prius, white, with pkg. 6 Touring 1st tank full=48mpg 2nd tank full=49.89 Got 60 mpg(avg) one evening returning home from work. Next morning back down to 48-ish. Keeping my foot out of it gets me in the mid-50's mpg |
