This is the MD group?

Wow... I guess there really aren't that many of us here in MD. Well, I'm in AA County. I don't see too many Prii on the roads here. I think I am the only Prius owner in my community. Well, I live in the land of the redneck pickup truck, so I am sure I will continue to be an anomaly for a little while. I DO see quite a few Prii in the parking garage here at work (Baltimore City) but most of them have DC plates.

But it is kinda neat to see people staring at my car wherever I go. Unfortunately, the rednecks keep asking me how often I have to plug it in.

hey M Smith! i just moved to the baltimore area and would love to start a MD meet-up! are we considered to be part of this group? i see plenty of MD prii around here.

I am in AA County. We have an '02 and an '04. I see quite a few around Arundel Mills Mall and on Ft. Meade.

So far no one has tried to organize a Maryland group. Those of us from the Free State have been accepted in the DC - Northern Virginia group, but the meets have not been very successful to date.

KathyY - You're probably seeing my Prius around the mall over there lately.

I still get a lot of looks and questions about my car on the penninsula. I guess I'm not far enough "inland".

I'm in MD too. Although I won't be showing my car off for a while. Some loser vandalized my car but as soon as it's fixed you'll see me back over at Arundel Mills Mall. I had a black 05 model which was great but I hated coming out and seeing people with their dirty hands peeking into my windows. It leaves stains on the glass don't you know.

I'm from Maryland too but I must admit I'm in Rockville, MD, which is more a suburb of DC. I don't see many Prii around here, maybe one or two per trip, but there are certain shopping parking lots where I often see three or four at a time. These are White Flint Plaza (Shoppers Food Warehouse) and Congressional Plaza (Whole Foods).

I'm in far Eastern Montgomery County (technically "Silver Spring" but really I live near Burtonsville by the PG/Howard borders) and I see TONS of Prius everywhere I go. Just today on my way to work (only 12 miles away in College Park) I saw three other Prius, and two more on the way home at 2:00. It seems to me that this area is just swarming with them, and I'd include Rockville in that swarm, so it surprises me you feel you don't see many. One day heading out there on Randolph Road I sighted at least 7 other Prius and *5* of them were blue "Twins" of my own Totoro.

I would definitely correlate organic shoppers with Prius, BTW. There's a My Organic Market in the same shopping center I work in and there are always several there coming and going each day. Also the Trader Joes in Silver Spring on 29 usually has three or four in the lot at any given time.
