The grease monkey - I mean, auto repair specialist forgot to replace the air cleaner cover back on the intake housing...I found it laying upside down, on top of the intake, angling down towards the radiator!!!! So, unfortunately - all I can say is that if/when I return to any Toyo dealer for the scheduled maintenance visits, I WILL be attending and watching the shop rats. Unacceptable and saddens me; this is the first "new" car I've purchased in over 18 years (always bought used) so I was hoping for the best. Oh well, I've always done my own maintenance before, guess I'll be doing it again...no biggie. Koons just confirmed my innate fear of dealership mechanics. Adam |

I called the stealership and asked if they could beat Carmax on a #6. The internet sales rep, scott, said that they could beat the price of Carmax but, he would have to call me back. I still have not heard back from him. Needless to say, I walked out of Carmax with a new package #6 for $25,800. I doubt I will ever do busniess with that stealership. I wonder if Crystal Koons knows what her employees do or does she just do commercials? |

Apparently, one of the mechanics that works there "has been spoken to" several times. The doof left the oil cap off and the oil spewed over my engine. I took it to the dealer to have it degreased, and the service station reimbursed me for the cost. It sounds like some people have had problems at this dealer, but I would not necessarily blame the dealership for this. I would report this to the service manager. They know who serviced your car, and if they are reputable, they will "speak to the doof" who serviced your car. If something goes wrong, complain. The response you get from the service manager will indicate whether you should continue to take your car there. Unfortunately, doofs can pass for competent people almost anywhere. |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #2 Touring Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | A little off topic, yesterday I took my car to a car wash (because I live in the Boston, I can't do it my self). I parked under a tree that dripped sap on my prius and made me spring for an 8.95 car wash, the first with only 800 miles on it. As I pulled up the guy working there told me to get out and he was going to drive it in, I gathered my cell phone and gps and followed instructions to go inside. I went in paid the cashier, looked around the convenient store and then noticed I could see my prius going on the track, but no one was in it. I figured it was in neutral because the screen was still lit. I then proceeded to follow it down the track, waited for another two other guys to wipe it down, then one got in drove it out of the car wash and proceeded to wipe it down more. As I walked to the car I motioned to grab my keys, which were in my pocket the whole time. How is this possible? It seems crazy that two guys drove the car while I was a good way away from it. I looked in the manual briefly and it shows the "range" where the smart key needs to be to work. Anyone else believe this? |

the key is only needed to start the car.... nothing else. start the car, toss key out window, car will run all day, or until it runs out of gas | |

I always check the oil level if I let the dealership do that service. Mechanics sometimes forget things, just like you and me. I don't trust any of the big-city northern VA dealerships too much. I go to a smaller dealership that I trust a bit more, way, way south of DC. |
