Friends: 1 | I notice that Starbug got 5th in one heat as well :-) I think I need you to explain the scoring a little though. Is the number of laps the number of completed laps before you blow off the track? Or maybe your time at your last completed lap when the leader gets the checkered flag? |

Friends: 10 | total time is for completed laps after the 5 minute time limit has elapsed. in my case i completed 13 laps ( i was involved in major pileup at the start) i started the race as 4th seed from previous qualifying races and ended up 5th. i did however have a best lap time of 19.5 secs...(i was impressed!!) |

Friends: 0 | Yep, Dave explained it well. *nod nod* We are given 5 mins to make as many laps as we can (preferably also with the fastest lap-times possible -check out Dave's times! WOW! Scream'n!). The first place racer has the most laps total. It doesn't matter that you fall off the track, just get back on and keep going (of course, it is ideal that you don't fall off.....but sometimes it can't be helped). Heh, yes I did get 5th in the B Main for Mini Sport (fear my Mini Cooper of DOOM!!!!). I love my Mini.... *hugs Mini Cooper* |

Friends: 1 | With those little buggers whipping around so fast, how do they time each lap? Electronic trips in each lane at the start/finish line? Hmmm, Dave mentioned a pile-up. OK, then no actual lanes. Car mounted transponders like they use in marathons? |

Friends: 10 | yes we use transponders and a sensor bar at the start finish. the only thing we cannot monitor is when someone jumps the course and comes back on at a different place. for that we are on the honor system. for the most part, that is nothing to worry about except in some of the younger classes we had some cutting half the course at times. of course they also did a lot of backwards racing too. the modified racers are something to see. they get up to 40 mph and to make several hairpin turns on CARPET takes a huge amount of skill. the winner of the modifieds was doing average laps at 12 sec and 90% of his laps were done weaving through traffic at top speed without touching another car or the wall. amazing!!

Friends: 0 | The next race is this Saturday (Nov. 13th) at the Issaquah Community Center from 6pm-10:30pm, if anybody wants to come. Let me know if you need directions. Dave: Stan is having us pre-register for the race so we don't have to waste time doing that at the track. So either call, PM, email, or drop into the shop before 6pm on Sat. (note: if you PM me, do it before Sat since the shop's computer never wants to log into PC for some reason. And my email is only accessible from my home computer, so please do that before Sat as well) |
