There are probably a dozen Madison Hybrid club members that've done their own and would be more than willing to help you. Or you could drive down to Chicago and I bet Wayne (fireengineer) would be more than happy to do it for you. Finally, it's very much a do-it-yourself project that anyone can do with a set of ramps and some patience.

In any case, there's no reason to spend money to have it done.

Yep, quite a few people in the Madison Hybrid Group have had it done by a third party, but so far no one I know of has done it themselves. Furthermore, if there is someone who has done it themselves, they have not come forward to offer their services to others.

I'd like to offer to do it because I have the skills, unfortunately I simply lack the time.

As you say, Tony, it is fairly simple project that anyone could do.

MadTown, if you're interested in becoming the Madison installer of this great item, let me know and I'll help you figure things out so we can help the whole Madison Hybrid Group.

Edited to add: Forgot to go back and answer MadTown's original question: "Is there an installation discount?"
Not on the install. But Jon Lancaster will sell the part for about $38-39 to anyone. No "group buy" necessary.
The part # is 00213-00889 for the 2nd gen Prius.

As Evan said I will do it for free. We can do it either in Madison or closer to Chicago, you can contact me to arrange it. Also you may want to contact Bradlee at the Milwaukee Hybrid Group as they will be doing a group install/BBQ in the Milwaukee area October 13th. Or if you like to drive the ChicagoPriusGroup will be doing a group install/BBQ on October 20th just north of O'Hare Airport. Or find a decent independent mechanic, show them Green Hokie's install thread and some money. Or pay the dealer the $150-$250 they normally charge.
