Next Madison Hybrid Group meeting is Sat. November 8

Hello Madison Hybrid Group members and friends!

Next Saturday, November 8th, is the final MHG meeting of 2008. 10:00 am - Noon.

To change things up, once again, we will be taking the meeting on the road.
This time we will be at Smart Motors Toyota at 5901 Odana Rd. in Madison. John Dolan, their hybrid expert will provide us a tour of the facility as well as explaining the green features that have incorporated into the building. He will also give us his thought on the upcoming Toyota hybrids.

Meet us at the dealership.

Saturday is a regular sales day for the dealership, and they would like to set aside a parking area for our club, so please RSVP letting me know if you will be coming so that we have enough spaces. Thanks!

Smart Toyota has set aside parking for us on the southeast corner of the building.

So if you drive into the Smart parking lot from Odana Rd at the stoplights of their main entrance, proceed around to the "back" of the building so that you are nearest the Beltline. I'll be there with my Red Insight. That should look "out of place at at a Toyota dealer, right?

After parking just walk through the side doors and the staff will be able to direct you up to the conference room where we'll be meeting.

November's meeting was a good time as we took the meeting to Smart Toyota on Odana Rd. They set aside some designated parking for us and had coffee and cookies waiting for us in the meeting room. Yum!

John Dolan, their hybrid expert, gave us a sneak preview of the 2010 Prius including photos of option features such as the solar paneled roof. Very cool.

Then we went on a tour of Smart Toyota's new dealership. We found out about the green features of their building, services they offer as well as history of the dealership.

Since this was the last regular meeting of the year we recapped the club events that occurred in 2008.

· Every other month regular meetings

· Trip to see the Brewers

· Helping out at green events

· Hybridfest

· Monthly summer Hybrid Car Cruise nights at Quaker Steak & Lube

· Road trip to historic Mazomanie

· Fun and camaraderie

As always we discussed Hybridfest, and the fact that we are looking for additional volunteers on the main planning committee.

Members also discussed the latest hybrid car news (such as the new Honda Insight coming out in 2009) as well as PHEV news. After the meeting there was more member discussion and help with car features out in the parking lot. (But man, was it cold!)

Overall it's been another great year for the Madison Hybrid Group.

We look forward to even more fun in 2009.
