Will this be a future member of the Prius family of hybrids? It appears that it could be a "little brother" for the Prius. Very nice! Looks iQ or Yaris-sized just basing on the hood size and the proportions from the very limited photos shown.

Stunning! I hope this car is to the Prius what the Yaris is to the Corolla. :)

If this car steals market share from Scion, the world will be in much better shape.
(because more hybrids will be displacing non-hybrid sales)

(if Toyota wants to flaunt their success, they should call it the "Volt." hahahahahaha
"The Volt is our base model, nothing fancy, but we have over a million orders for them" :D )

Danny, I wonder if there's any chance this could be the same vehicle: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-h...l-sports-car-new-york-auto-show-in-april.html

If I'm not mistaken the new 2-seater sports car ( MR2? ) which is being built by Subaru for Toyota will be debuted soon. I think that it might be going into the Scion lineup to replace the tC.

I am not so sure the second pic is the front or the rear.

The Hybrid Synergy Drive badge is different too.

With the first picture, with the B pillar of the car (beyond the steering wheel), there appears to be too much rear window for this concept to be a sporty coupe. The front lacks the longish hood that is common with a couple profile, although the short front overhang looks promising. If I had to venture a guest, I think the shape of this concept would be more along the lines of a traditional hatchback/short wagon (thinking of the Mazda 5)... probably a concept for the Prius people mover.

I agree. The rear window in the first shot looks too big to be a coupe. Come to think of it, the front overhang looks like Estima.

btw, toyota said when they introduced iQ, that future Yaris will be based on same packaging (very small hood) as well as Yaris based 7 seater.

So this does not have to be tiny car (iQ is tiny), it could be Yaris Hatch sized and lets not forget that despite the looks, they can fit all engine options from Yaris into the iQ - 1.0l, 1.33l and 1.4D4D diesel.

Doesn't look like a coupe - although Toyota desparately needs one.

    The fact that it has a B-pillar means it's a 5-door.

    The Yaris Verso isn't a 7 seater?

Let's start making a list of definitive features of these photos. First, it has a Toyota emblem and not a Scion emblem; it's going to be branded as a Toyota (it could still be a Prius variant, or not). Second, observe the shape of the headlight and the way it appears from this angle to touch the windshield. Also, notice the emblem is at the crevice seam of the hood, and that the emblem is above the crease that folds from the top of the hood to the slanted front of the car. Now, look back above at the photo of the minivan; CLEARLY not the same vehicle. Now, take a look at Toyota iQ photos - the headlight positions are very similar but the crease on the hood and bumper are not. It could be an iQ but with different body panels (slightly different design). Toyota iQ photos: http://toyotaiqcar.com/gallery/toyota-show-iq-gallery/

The thing is, the more I look at the photo of the green car, it doesn't seem to resemble anything Toyota already has, including the iQ. I think this is going to be something completely new.
What the Prius was to the Matrix is what I think this is going to be to the smallest Yaris .. or the iQ. Same platform, different body.
